Welcome to SMJ Counselling

I specialise in adult individual counselling. I hold a counselling qualification from the University of Canterbury at master’s level and I am passionate about health and wellbeing.

I have worked in the health sector for over 35 years, and I have had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life. I value respect and working collaboratively with the clients with whom I work. Most people seek counselling or therapy as a result of past or present difficult life events, and/or emotional / mental distress. Clients often come to counselling feeling ‘stuck’ At SMJ counselling I offer you a professional, non-judgemental service and space where we can work together. I will work alongside you to  enable you to bring about meaningful  change and the opportunity move towards being able to do what matters to you.
